Residents are served by regular monthly visits of the Mobile Library. The various Mobile stops, dates and times are detailed in 'village info' on this site and the dates of these visits will also be found in the Steamer What's on page.
The Public Footpath network covers some seven and a half miles of pleasant walking. There is also a local network of bridleways known as Stanton Rides; details are available from Suffolk County Council. We also now have, thanks to the generosity of local landowners, a few permissive paths which may be walked. The full Stanton footpath guide is available from the Post Office. A shortened version is available on Village info page on this site.
Leisure facilities include a large (14 acre) recreation ground mainly used for football, a multi-sport play area, tennis court, concrete skate park, 'pocket park' and new in July 2016 a large children's play area. The improved Village Hall is also situated on the recreation ground as is the public toilet and the recycling centre where glass and textiles can be placed in the large bins provided - the two large geen bins belong to the village hall and should not be used to dump general rubbish, they are overlooked by CCTV cameras!
The Stanton Steamer is the village monthly magazine, distributed free to over 1,300 homes in the parish. Incorporated in the magazine is the 'What's On' in Stanton page, a diary for regular and other events in the coming months. The Stanton Steamer Group produces the magazine. The name for the village magazine was chosen because of the activities of the former village agricultural engineers and contractors who used and overhauled steam traction engines amongst many other things.
